This idyllic peaceful setting, with every type of wildlife you can think of, features an excellent pond within feet of the river Soar offering fishing for all ages. Situated on the left between Brick Kiln Lane and the lay-by, it is within easy walking distance of the village.

It is a particularly friendly site for the elderly and disabled with easy car parking only feet from the pegs. There are 16 river pegs and a further 29 pond pegs, with 6' x 4' sturdy bases.

Over the last three years the pond has been carefully restocked with bream and carp and this year, 2008, we complemented the existing tench population with a further 600 fish in the 6"-10" bracket.

There are numerous carp between 5lbs and 15lbs a few to 20lbs+ and we know of a 30lb fish. The pond is a renowned tench fishery with many fish going over 5lbs biggest to date 8lbs. There are also a good head of bream in the 3lb - 6lb mark. There is also good head of roach and roach/bream hybrid, along with skimmers.

There is a very active Junior Section which hold matches each Wednesday evening in the summer and the seniors have well attended matches on the last Saturday of each month.

A well stocked pond ensures good catches throughout the summer months and the river fishes well in the winter.
